These past couple of weeks we have attempted to return to the core of what our story is about, with basic themes and seven steps. I have done extensive work to flesh out story ideas in our Miro Board where we have created a giant living story board of notes and act/ sequence breakdowns. We met in person on Friday and a group discussion was opened on the pattern of some individuals absences. We finally got access to the room we wanted to move into for story development, and I started writing story beats on sticky notes through the entire story, which were handed out to other group members to draw out on a second set of sticky notes so that we could have the story thumbnailed out. This was super helpful as we were able to visualize our story beats and move beats around, replace, and color code and organize as needed. It was overall a really good productive step. I proposed to the group that we should take time from next Friday to write a Call Out Policy in our Production Contract, as well as review our overhead roles, and democratically elect people for those roles for this month. We felt like these would be strong tools to re-iterate the importance of showing up to meetings and doing so on time, as well as a strong way to re-distribute work from less consistent/reliable people to those that have shown more dedication.
