Effects Showcase and Project Clean Up

This week I resolved a handful of large problems with our project's character effects system, polishing the materials and getting a much more polished look that functions perfectly as intended (click through slideshow!) I had to modify and troubleshoot my Materials over and over again, adjsuting different functions and doing lots of research, but i finally pulled the entire system together this week in a satisfying way.


Additionally, we had new team members entering the Unreal Engine project, so I took the liberty of cleaning out a lot of old and outdated files, renaming all of our assets and organizing them in a much cleaner and easier to understand system.


Unfortunately, before I was able to continue onto more fun and exciting effects work, we ran into some major texturing/UV complications, and after many different attempts at working the issues out, we have found that we need to use a mix of updating the rigs model and redoing some textures and UVs. It is by far not a perfect fit, but it is the most optimized solution that we could come to without redoing all textures.


So this upcoming week, instead of working on more effects, I will be fixing up these major UV and Texturing problems with any other available team members. It is not fun and it is tedious, but it unfortunately needs to be done before I can get to any other problems/systems.
